Storytelling That Elevates Places, People, and Experiences
For publishers, restaurants, hotels, and hospitality-driven brands, powerful imagery is what turns an experience into something people can feel before they ever arrive. From editorial publications like Edible Seacoast to immersive culinary experiences such as Nick Brune’s Storytellers 7.0—where food, music, beer, and storytelling came together in a single curated evening—the most compelling work happens when atmosphere, craft, and emotion are documented with intention. At Encinitas Studio, the focus is on translating those layered experiences into visual narratives that feel both authentic and elevated, whether it’s a chef’s table, a boutique hotel stay, a coastal rental, or a branded editorial feature. The goal is to create imagery that doesn’t just show what something looks like, but communicates what it feels like to be there—inviting audiences, readers, and guests into the story before they ever step inside.

Restaurants + Hospitality
"From mint green marshmallows in Tahoe to original dishes by Chef Nick Brune in San Diego, I'm always on the hunt for a good meal. Thank goodness I get paid to photograph the food that I get to eat haha..."

Edible Seacoast - The Fermentation Issue
The Fermentation Issue of Edible Seacoast celebrates the ancient craft of transforming simple ingredients into vibrant, living foods. From tangy sourdough and small-batch kombucha to handcrafted cheeses, pickles, and locally brewed beverages, this issue explores the people, traditions, and science behind fermentation throughout the Seacoast region. Through documentary-style photography, the story captures artisans at work, the textures and details of the fermentation process, and the deep connection between food, community, and place. The resulting imagery highlights both the beauty of craftsmanship and the growing movement toward sustainable, locally produced foods.
Where Food, Music, and Story Became One
For Storytellers 7.0, chef Nick Brune transformed dinner into an immersive artistic experience, bringing together thoughtfully crafted cuisine, carefully selected beer pairings, and the intimate performance of a storytelling songwriter. More than a meal, the evening invited guests into the creative process, as each course reflected the emotion, memory, and inspiration behind the music being performed. Set against San Diego's thriving culinary scene, Storytellers became a celebrated gathering of artists, chefs, brewers, and food lovers—an experience that blurred the line between dinner and performance art. Though the series came to an end during the pandemic, its legacy remains a testament to the power of bringing people together through food, music, and shared stories.
